Slowly

Just thought I'd give a little update. Weight is coming off slowly. I'm at 203lbs from 260lbs.

I had a foot injury that finally seems to be healing, so I'm back to working on my running. I'm getting nervous - I have this stupid 4-mile race in a month and I haven't run over 3 miles non-stop yet. I'm up to five miles when I run 10/walk 2 on the treadmill, but other than that, I really want to get to 4 miles and then work on speed/hills. All in one month! Arrgh. This is a huge race fortunately. Thousands of people run this race so no fears of being last. But I've told myself for a year that I was going to do this and now I've put this up on such a pedestal!

But as for positive things, let's see...my legs are starting to look nice and athletic and shapely. My waist is getting much smaller, I can definitely tell that. I wish I could see some difference in my upper thighs though. But it will get there.

Next weekend is Memorial Day weekend. My mom is going to St. Louis so I'm going there to spend the weekend. She hasn't seen me since I was 220 or so, so I hope she sees a difference. My goal was to get to 199 by the time I see her. I have seven days to try to lose 4 pounds. I'll try for it. I also have an annual gyn appointment next week. I haven't gone in a while, and I hope he notices that I've lost weight since my last appointment.

I'm enthused by the nice warm weather. It's nice to run on the path here along the river and enjoy the scenery. I ran 2.15 miles today along with my 3 classes and some swimming...I'd say I burned some calories today.
