Halfway There Ok, so down to 208lbs from 260. Don't know what's going on with the month of March but I'll definitely take it! Seems like my plateau is over for right now. The main thing I've been doing is more running. I run 3-4 times per week, getting close to 4 miles in nonstop. I'm very excited because I'm halfway to my -100lbs goal of 160lbs. I'm also into territory I haven't been around in close to 10 years. I have not been under 200lbs in just about 10 years I must say. I'll have to see if I can find one of my old Weight Watchers weight logs. I feel like losing weight is a fairly simple formula. Burn calories, lose fat. I feel proud that I'm doing it on my own plan. I notice greatly when I start to feel full and I stop. I'm not "good" all the time. It's always going to be a struggle to eat balanced meals and make sure I get in a lot of veggies each day. Last week, I was craving fried chicken, one of my favorite things. So I stopped at Popeye's chicken and bought 2 pieces of chicken and a biscuit and ate them. It was great. I didn't feel bad about it. I just stopped there. No dessert, no nothing else. And I focused hard during my run the next day. And I went down 2 pounds that week. Most of this is in the exercise and the fact that I exercise so regularly, and have a variety of things that I do regulary. I sweat like a pig. I rock out while I'm running. I probably make funny faces. But I'm freaking DOING it. For the first time in my life, I'm accomplishing at this. I'd been wanting to get back into a pair of Adidas wind pants that I loved about 10 years ago that I used to wear when my husband and I would go on runs. I pulled them out this weekend and they are so loose in the waist that I asked my hubby if he could put a tie in the waist. All of my pants and shirts are so loose that I'm feeling rather sloppy. But I just can't afford new stuff. When I do get something, it's always an a-line dress that I can wear with tights and a cardigan now, and when it gets warmer, I can wear without hose. Dresses get looser, but at least I don't have to worry about them falling off at the waist. 48lbs to go to my own goal. These next pounds are when the fun really begins. I'll be going from "fat" to WOW. Not many people have noticed too much, or at least have said much. But for example on Saturday I went in to give blood and the gal who took my blood said - "I used to see you at the gym last year - wow, you must still be going - how much weight have you lost?!" I was so proud at that moment! Then she kept saying things like "man, you are making me want to go back, you can really tell - if I'd stayed going, I'd be getting thin too!" That stuff really keeps me going! I think next weekend just for fun I'm gonna go to Macy's and try on clothes and different sizes. It's a good time. |
